Sekhukhune United became the third team to reach the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup after they defeated Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town Spurs 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday evening. 

Babina Noko’s goals were scored in the first half by their forward Victor Letsoalo in the 23rd minute and Zambian Roderick Kabwe three minutes before the half-time break.

Meanwhile, defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns were the first team to reach the quarter-finals after they beat Marumo Gallants 3-1 last week. 

And ABC Motsepe League side Dondol Stars were the second team to go through to the last-eight following their 5-4 defeat of Premier Division club AmaZulu on penalties on Wednesday after the two sides had played to a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes.
