Mamelodi Sundowns are making a habit of beating Egyptian giants Al Ahly as they walloped them 5-2 in a CAF Champions League Group B match at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.

The in-form Tshwane giants made their intentions clear when they took the lead through Marcelo Allende in the fourth minute.

The Red Devils levelled matters when Mohamed Sherif scored in the 13th minute only for Themba Zwane to restore Sundowns’ lead 11 minutes later and Teboho Mokoena made it 3-1 in the 40th minute.

Former Sundowns man Percy Tau gave the African Club of the Century some hope when he scored for them in the 61st minute. But the reigning DStv Premiership champions were not done yet as Peter Shalulile found the back of the net in the 72nd and 88th minutes.
