East London boxing promotional outfit Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) has secured a venue for International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight champion Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga’s title defence against Regie Suganob from the Philippines.
RAP announced on Wednesday that East London’s International Convention Centre (ICC) will host the fight on Friday, 16 June.
The search for the venue started soon after RAP reached an agreement with the Nontshinga and Suganob camps on Wednesday last week. Reaching an agreement came just on time as a failure would have resulted in a purse bid.
The 24-year-old Nontshinga from East London won the title by a split decision during his fight against Mexican Hector Flores in Hermosillo, Mexico, in September last year while Suganob earned the right to challenge for the crown after he defeated his compatriot Mark Mendoza Vicelles in February this year.
