Lehlohonolo Seema has described Chippa United’s match against Richards Bay FC as having been a tough battle as they seek to remain in the Premier Division.

The Chilli Boys coach led the Gqeberha-based club to 2-0 down comeback to defeat the Natal Rich Boyz 3-2 in a DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban, on Wednesday evening.

“I think it was a difficult game as we expected. We all saw how they started the season. They made a huge favour by collecting points at the beginning of the season,” Seema said.

“They started like a house on fire. We conceded two goals from our own mistakes in the first half. I have never seen such a comeback. It showed that we are still there to fight. It was a good win. We will keep fighting.”

The Natal Rich Boyz scored twice in a space of three minutes as Sakhile Hlongwa netted in the 22nd minute and Somila Ntsundwana doubled their lead in the 25th minute.

The Chilli Boys fought back and scored their first goal through Etiosa Ighodaro a minute before the half-time break. Aviwe Mqokozo netted twice in the 76th and 83rd minutes.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Cape-based Chilli Boys are now left with two matches before they wrap up the 2022/23 season.

They face TS Galaxy away at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday, 13 may and have a home clash against Lamontville Golden Arrows seven days later.
