Nigeria came from behind to beat Amajimbos 3-2 in an Africa Cup of Nations Under-17s group stages match at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Algiers, Algeria, on Saturday evening.
Amajimbos shot to an early lead when their goalpoacher Vicky Mkhawana scored in the seventh minute.
The Golden Eaglets equalised through Charles Agada’s header in the 35th minute with Amajimbos goalkeeper Gennaro Johnson in no man’s land.
Siyabonga Mabena dribbled past three Nigerian defenders before unleashing a shot to restore Amajimbos’ lead just before the referee blew his whistle for the half-time break.
The Golden Eaglets quickly replied early in the second half as they equalised through Light Eke’s tap in from Agada’s cross in the 46th minute. The West Africans finally took the lead when Abubakar Abdullahi tapped in from Emmanuel Michael’s cross in the 65th minute.
