Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo walked away with the club’s Player of the Season award at a function held a few hours after he netted a brace against Richards Bay FC on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Mayo, who is the son of former Kaizer Chiefs, SuperSport United and Mthatha Bucks forward Patrick Mayo, is joint top goal scorer with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Peter Shalulile on 12 goals.
Meanwhile, 30-ywar-okd central defender Taariq Fielies won the Players’ Player of the Season award for the second successive season.
