Maritzburg United’s quest to remain in the Premier Division continued as they beat Casric Stars 2-0 in a PSL Promotion/Relegation play-off match at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, on Saturday afternoon.
Rowan Human gave the Team of Choice the lead when he beat Stars goalkeeper Ludwe Mpakumpaku in the 28th minute. This was Human’s third goal in these play-offs and also his third against Stars.
Defender Mogamad de Goede, formerly with Stellenbosch FC, made it 2-0 in the 71st minute making matters more difficult for the home side.
The Team of Choice are going to play against Cape Town Spurs at home in their last play-offs match on Wednesday evening. Spurs are on nine points after winning their three matches while the Team of Choice are on six having won twice and lost once.
