A process, which will lead to the appointment of a seven-member board of Boxing South Africa (BSA) has started with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture sending out an advert for the nomination of new members.
Boxing stakeholders and the general public have until Saturday, 12 August, to submit names of people which they believe can take the troubled fistic sport forward.
“In terms of the South African Boxing Act (Act 11 of 2001), the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Mr Ncediso Goodenough Kodwa invites members of the boxing fraternity and the general public to nominate persons to serve as members of the board of Boxing South Africa,” the advert said.
The current BSA board is made up of Luthando Jack, its chairperson, Erick Nsikayezwe Sithole, Azwitamisi Nthangeni, Sakhiwe Sodo, Suren Maharaj, Khulile Radu and Gilberto Martins. The board’s three-year term is going to expire at the end of November this year.
