A patient SuperSport United came from behind to beat Stellenbosch FC 2-1 in a DStv Premiership match at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands on Saturday evening.
After searching for a goal, Stellies broke the deadlock through Jayden Adams in the 38th minute. Matsatsantsa a Pitori goalkeeper Ricardo Goss saved Devin Titus’ volley only for the ball to land on Adams’ path.
Matsatsantsa levelled matters after Gamphani Lungu converted a penalty in the 54th minute. Match referee Tshidiso Mkhwanazi awarded Matsatsantsa a penalty after Stellies goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke had fouled Etiosa Ighodaro inside the box.
Matsatsantsa went into the lead for the first time when Grant Margeman scored from a follow up in the 85th minute. Masuluke failed to clear after a direct free kick and Margeman pounced to give his team their second goal.
