Raider Muleba does not see herself losing her South African female lightweight title as she’s going to defend against Bonita van Jaarsveldt.
The 30-year-old Muleba squares up against Van Jaarsveldt at a TLB Boxing Promotions tournament scheduled for Vodaworld, Midrand, on Saturday next week.
This is going to be a fourth meeting between Muleba and Van Jaarsveldt with each having won once and the other bout ending in a draw.
“I think it’s going to be a tough fight because we know each other. It’s been a long time fighting against each other,” Muleba, who is trained by John Nemakonde, remarked.
Van Jaarsveldt will be making a second attempt at winning the national title having failed to dethrone former champion Kholosa Ndobayini at the Meropa Sun in Polokwane two years ago.
“I don’t think she will take my title away from me. I’m preparing to defend it and I won’t make it easy for her. I have been training very hard because I was due to have defended my title in April,” Muleba said.
