She has admitted that organising two tournaments is no walk in the park, but Joyce Kungwane has insisted that she’s not a bundle of nerves as the clock is ticking towards Saturday.
This is the day when Kungwane is set to make history of her own as her TLB Boxing Promotions outfit will host two tournaments in one day. And this is definitely going to count as one of Kungwane’s big days as a boxing promoter as she stages the two shows at Vodaworld in Midrand.
Action is due to start with a women’s only tournament at 14h00 – four hours before another show, which will feature only male boxers, begins.
“Preparations are going very well though it’s tough. From my end, I’m doing what I’m suppose to do. It’s so far, so good,” Kungwane said.
Raider Muleba is scheduled to defend her South African female lightweight title against Bonita van Jaarsveldt in the main bout of the Rise of Women In Boxing tournament.
This is going to be Muleba’s first defence of the title she won after she dethroned Kholosa Ndobayini in November last year.
Meanwhile, SA junior-featherweight champion Bongani ‘Wonderboy’ Mahlangu will defend his title against Luthando Mbumbulwana in the main bout of the evening show.
