Problems around the Boxing South Africa (BSA) ratings continue to anger licensees as they feel that something is definitely not right with South African boxing.
And award-winning trainer-cum-manager Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan has vowed that his boxers won’t be involved in SA championship bouts until something is done to arrest the slide.
“None of my fighters will fight for a provincial or South African title until there’s a new administration. As it is now in the new ratings, it’s like believing in a tooth fairy and making the tooth fairy pregnant,” Nathan, who is licensed both in South Africa and Japan, said.
Ink Sport can reveal that Nathan has voiced his displeasure around the controversial October ratings and has even made his feelings known to new ratings committee chairperson Willie Saayman.
The latter started as the new chairperson of the ratings committee at the beginning of this month and has already been heavily criticised since the release of the somewhat dodgy October ratings.
