Hugo Broos has come down hard on his Bafana Bafana players following a goalless draw with eSwatini’s Sihlangu Semnikati in an international friendly match at a deserted FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Friday evening.
It had been hoped that Bafana, who are ranked 65th in the world, were going to defeat 144-ranked Sihlangu. However, Sihlangu held their own against Bafana.
“There were many feelings who went through my body during the game and after the game. Frustration, anger, unbelief. I didn’t believe what I saw, the first half, also the second half,” the frustrated Bafana coach said.
“First half we played very bad. I think we had one chance to score against, with all due respect, eSwatini. We were lucky that we played against a team of that level otherwise it should have been a disaster. I didn’t recognise my team.”
Meanwhile, Bafana are off to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where they are going to play against the Ivorian Elephants in a friendly match on Tuesday next week.
