SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo believes that they were unlucky to play a 1-1 draw with Swallows FC in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori came from behind to snatch a draw against the Dube Birds. Sipho Mbule equalised for Matsatsantsa in the second half after the Birds had taken a first half lead through Fawaaz Basadien.
“I think on the balance of play, we had a good game. We dominated possession, we got into good areas. Defensively, we were a little bit solid besides the goal we conceded,” Tembo said.
“I was happy with the work ethic of the players. Second half we kept playing the same way like the first half. At the death Bradley (Grobler) could have snatched it. He has been out for two months. He only played the last 15 minutes against (Black) Leopards. I think with more game time, he will be sharp.”
Matsatsantsa have struggled to pick up wins in recent matches even though Tembo insists that he’s happy with his team’s performance.
“Where we are, we got to win games. We had to throw caution to the wind. I think in terms of our performance we were just unlucky. At the moment I’m only focusing on the performance. As a team we need to get better,” he said.
Meanwhile, Swallows coach Brandon Truter is a little bit disappointed after his team registered their 15th draw of the season.
“We knew it was gonna be a tough game. SuperSport is very good in attack. I think we coped well. It’s a point moving forward with six games to go,” Truter said.
