What has been long time coming has finally happened as coach Steve Komphela left financially-challenged Moroka Swallows on Monday evening.

It was clear from the time the Dube Birds hierarchy dismissed more than 20 players that the former Lamontville Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs coach’s at the Soweto were numbered.

“There remains a mutual respect between the two parties and the decision to separate is one both parties have welcomed,” a Swallows statement said.

The 56-year-old Komphela joined the Dube Birds from Mamelodi Sundowns before the beginning of the current season.
