Stellenbosch FC moved to the second round of the Nedbank Cup following a 4-3 win over Pretoria Callies on penalties at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands on Friday evening.
A 1-1 stalemate after two hours of football forced this encounter to be decided on spot kicks.
Devin Titus gave the Cape Winelands side the lead in the 75th minute from Fawaaz Basadien’s assist. Leandro Jose Barros de Soussa’s 89th minute equaliser for the Motsepe Foundation Championship MFC (MFC) side ensured that the match headed to extra-time.
