A member of the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) paid Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile an announced visit at the All Winners Boxing Club in Mdantsane on Friday.
Unfortunately, Fuzile was not at the gym at the time of the official’s arrival something which forced All Winners Boxing Club manager Mlandeli Tengimfene to rush and go fetch him.
VADA works with the World Boxing Council (WBC) in an effort to make sure that the fistic sport is clean.
“I got a call and was told that there was someone who was looking for me and Azinga at the gym. I then rushed to the gym and met a VADA official, who came to test Azinga,” Tengimfene said.
“I registered Azinga and Kuse with VADA. I informed VADA that their officials can come to our gym any time between 1 and 3pm, Monday to Friday. The unannounced visit is a lesson to all boxers that they must be clean all the time.”
Fuzile joined All Winners Boxing Club late last year and already has a fight under his belt. He stopped Tanzanian boxer Emmanuel Amos Stephano at the Whittlesea Multipurpose Hall in Sada last December.
