With Puerto Rican boxer Jonathan ‘Bomba’ Gonzalez delaying to sign a contract for a unification bout with Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga, it now appears that the Eastern Cape boxer might fight for three titles in one bout.

International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight titlist Nontshinga’s handlers are mulling over the idea of a three-title unification bout with Japanese boxer Kenshiro Teraji, who is the current World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) champion.

Ink Sport has reliable learnt that Teraji’s management has approached Nontshinga’s camp with a proposal for a unification bout should Gonzalez fail to sign a contract.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Nontshinga finally received his IBF belt on Thursday following his 10th round victory over Mexican boxer Adrian Curiel Dominguez in Oaxaca, Mexico almost two months ago.

Nontshinga is the first South African boxer to lose and immediately reclaim a world title. He was stopped in the second round by Dominguez in Monaco last November.
