Bafana Bafana thrashed Zimbabwe’s Warriors 3-1 in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday evening.

It was thought it was a perfect start for Bafana as Iqraam Rayners put them ahead in the first minute following a defensive blunder by the Warriors.

However, the Zimbabweans replied quickly through Tawanda Chirewa who sliced through the Bafana defence and put the ball past goalkeeper and captain Ronwen Williams in the second minute.

Bafana restored their lead in the 55th minute when second half substitute Thapelo Morena made it 2-1 following a cross from Oshwin Appollis.

Morena proved to be an inspired substitute as he completed his brace in the 76th minute after he was fed by his Mamelodi Sundowns teammate Teboho Mokoena.
