Former Jomo Cosmos and Orlando Pirates midfielder Helman ‘Midnight Express’ Mkhalele is going to be Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ second assistant.
Mkhalele comes into the senior national set up after Broos appointed his compatriot Cedomir Janevski as his other assistant last week.
Brooks told SAfm’s Sport On programme last Friday that he had appointed former Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki as his local assistant.
But that didn’t go down with the South African Football Association (SAFA) as the organisation released a statement dismissing Ntseki’s appointment.
The 51-year-old Mkhalele is currently the coach of the national Under-20s. Mkhalele played 66 times for Bafana Bafana and scored eight goals.
