Boxing South Africa (BSA) revealed on Saturday afternoon that the regulator had licensed a total of 720 boxers for the 2024/25 financial year.

In addition, 88 promoters, 141 managers, 105 trainers, 56 seconds, 15 ring announcers and 79 ring officials have been licensed. In total, the boxing regulator has approved 1 212 licences across the board.

According to acting BSA chief executive officer Mandla Ntlanganiso, the Northern Cape, North West, Mpumalanga and Limpopo are a source of a major concern for the regulator as each has less than 55 licensees.
