The South African Broadcasting Corporaion (SABC) announced on Monday morning that it had come to an agreement with SuperSport regarding televising Betway Premiership matches.

The SABC is going to sub-license of Premier Soccer League (PSL) broadcast rights during the 2024/5 Betway Premiership season.

This move came after the two broadcasting houses had agreed on sub-licensing of the MTN8 and the Currie Cup semi-finals. The SABC showed the Currie Cup semi-finals this past weekend and will also show the final on Saturday.

“Our rights package includes a total of 51 matches, comprising 23 Betway Premiership matches, 10 Carling Black Label Cup matches, 12 Nedbank Cup matches, and six National First Division matches. We will broadcast league matches every Saturday on SABC 1 during the league season, ensuring our audience has access to exciting live local football,” SABC Group CEO Nomsa Chabeli said.

Meanwhile, SuperSport is going to broadcast all 240 Betway Premiership games live on DStv, DStv Stream and Showmax Premier League.
