Getting a Bafana Bafana call-up has brought joy into Chippa United midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba and he has called football followers in Gqeberha to converge at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday evening.
Kwayiba was called up to the Bafana squad ahead of Friday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo at 19h00. Kwayiba replaced Jayden Adams, who failed to pitch up in camp following his team Stellenbosch FC’s loss to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final in Durban on Saturday evening.
“I would like our fans to fill up the stadium on Friday, to give us all the support. If I can get a chance on Friday, I will do all my best. I want to prove myself,” Kwayiba said.
The 24-year-old Kwayiba from Motherwell in Gqeberha was in the Bafana squad, which played in the COSAFA Cup tournament more than two months ago.
“I’m happy I’m here in camp. Some of the players are my role models. I feel comfortable to be around these players,” Kwayiba, who won two man-of-the-match awards in the Chilli Boys’ first four matches of the season, added.
