A spate of poor results have forced Cape Town City to fire their technical director and interim coach Muhsin Ertugral on Monday afternoon.

The 64-year-old Turkish-born has only been in charge of the Citizens since January following the sacking of Eric Tinkler as their coach.

“After technical discussions, the club and Muhsin Ertugral have agreed mutually to part ways. The decision comes as a collective in the best interest of the club as we look to end the 24/25 season as strong as possible. We thank Muhsin for his professional and earnest contribution,” a Citizens statement said.

The former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs mentor had a great start at the Citizens defeating both the Buccaneers and Amakhosi. However, things turned badly as results were difficult to come by something which forced the club’s hierarchy to fire him.

Meanwhile, first team coach Diogo Peral will lead the side until the end of the season, assisted by Lebogang Manyama and Roger de Sa.
