For the first time a boxing tournament was held at the Guild Theatre in East London and boxers didn’t disappoint as they dished out what fight fans loved on Sunday evening.
In the main bout, which was meant to determine who’s the best boxer in Makhanda, Bongani Fule faced off against Siphesihle Mpolweni in the featherweight division.
After dropping his friend Mpolweni three times, Fule emerged victorious by a fourth round stoppage and in the process he became the ‘Prince of Makhanda’.
Meanwhile, Mdantsane boxer and former amateur star Amzolele Dyeyi continued with his unbeaten run as he defeated Bagcina Gowa by a unanimous decision.
