Kaizer Chiefs have spoken out via a statement regarding Tunisian-born coach Nasreddine Nabi following a fall out with the former FAR Rabat mentor.
The 60-year-old Nabi had a fall out with the Amakhosi hierarchy this week and he didn’t even travel with the team to Angola where they face Kabuscorp SC in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match on Saturday.
“Kaizer Chiefs confirms that head coach Nasreddine Nabi is currently not with the team as discussions between the club and the coach remain on going. The matter is internal in nature and is being addressed through the appropriate processes,” an Amakhosi statement said on Friday morning.
Chiefs, who are third in the Betway Premiership standings, made it clear that they won’t be sharing any more details on the Nabi matter.
“The club remains focused on ensuring stability and continuity for the players and supporters during this period. As this is an internal matter, no further details will be shared at this stage,” the statement further said.
“We appreciate the continued support and understanding of our supporters and the broader football community. Any updates will be communicated through official club channels when appropriate.”
