News coming out of the Philippines is that unbeaten Filipino boxer Kenneth ‘The Lover Boy’ Llover is scheduled to square up against Landile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke next month.
According to the Filipinos, this International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight elimination bout is going to take place in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday, 26 October.
Ngxeke is fresh from a vacant IBF International and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Intercontinental bantamweight titles victory over Mexican boxer Eric Gamboa in June.
The Sada-born Ngxeke, who is the reigning South African bantamweight titlist, has a professional record of 16 victories with eight stoppages, a loss and a draw.
On the other hand, Llover stopped former World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight and junior-bantamweight champion Luis Concepcion from Panama in the eighth round at the Winford Resort and Casino, Sta Cruz, Manila in the Philippines last month.
The 22-year-old Llover, the current Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) bantamweight champion, has won all his 15 fights with 10 of those wins coming from knockouts.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Ngxeke, a former SA junior-bantamweight champion, is rated fifth by the IBF, seventh in the World Boxing Council (WBC) and fourth in the WBO ratings.
Llover from General Trias, Cavite, in the Philippines, is rated seventh by the IBF and 13th in the WBC ratings.
