Bafana Bafana laboured to a 1-0 win over Botswana in their COSAFA Cup opener at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Tuesday evening.
Second half substitute Kagiso Malinga scored the only goal of the match in the 67th minute.
Botswana’s Zebras were the better team and were unlucky not to get anything from the match.
Meanwhile, Bafana were coached by Morena Ramoreboli in the absence of Helman Mkhalele, who is in isolation.
Mkhalele and Bafana goalkeeper Lucky Shiburi were put in isolation pending confirmatory COVID-19 testing.
