Richards Bay FC were too good for Chippa United as they trounced the Eastern Cape side 4-1 in a Carling Knockout last-16 encounter at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Things started to go wrong for the Chilli Boys when a poor clearance allowed Ntlonelo Bomelo to give the Natal Rich Boyz the lead in the fourth minute.
Three minutes later, Zimbabwean Knox Mutizwa increased the Natal Rich Boyz’s lead with a header following Wandile Ngema’s corner.
The Chilli Boys pulled one back through Azola Tshobeni following an assist from Eva Nga Bienvenue in the 26th minute.
Mutizwa, formerly with Lamontville Golden Arrows, completed his brace eight minutes before the half-time break. And second half substitute Lundi Mahala made it 4-1 in referee’s added time.
