After showing Boxing South Africa (BSA) the middle finger and went to fight in Tanzania a number of times without being cleared by the fistic regulator, Asemahle ‘The Predator’ Wellem has now landed in the dog box.

Wellem is scheduled to appear before a BSA disciplinary committee next month after he fought in Tanzania for the umpteenth time as he defeated Nigerian boxer Idowa Mustorpha Rasheed in July.

“The matter is part of the workload, which our newly-appointed disciplinary committee will be dealing with. The matter is now outside the hands of management and with that committee. He’ll hear from them probably early November,” BSA chief executive officer Tsholofelo Lejaka revealed.

Following his defiance, Wellem lost his South African super-middleweight title after BSA stripped him in July as that was the third time he fought in Tanzania without a clearance.

Wellem started defying BSA when he fought in the East African country against Frank Shagembe in December last year despite being on an automatic 90-day suspension following his eighth round stoppage loss to Australian boxer Conor Wallace in Australia.

Still not cleared by BSA, Chintsa-born Wellem who’s revered in Tanzania, left South Africa to fight against Jacob Maganga in May.

Meanwhile, Wellem is set to travel to Kyrgyzstan where he will fight against Kyrgyz-Russian boxer Dilmurod Satybaldiev at the Bishkek Arena, Bishkek, on Saturday, 25 October. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
