While some boxing followers argue that Bongani ‘King Killer’ Fule has bitten more than he can chew as he fights against experienced campaigner Jeff Magagane, the lad from Makhanda believes that he will emerge victorious from the fight.
Fule will test his fistic skills against Magagane, a former South African featherweight champion, at the Guild Theatre in East London on Sunday. This clash is going to headline a six-bout tournament by Kay B Promotions.
“This is the biggest fight so far in my career. This fight is gonna help me a lot. Magagane is experienced and has long been in the game,” Fule said.
“I was a mandatory challenger to Lindelani Sibisi, but I opted to fight against an experienced boxer. I chose someone with experience before going for the South African title.”
With four stoppages in seven victories, number two-rated Fule was on top of his game when he stopped his Makhanda homeboy and friend Siphesihle Mpolweni in the fourth round at the same East London venue almost three months ago.
Magagane, on the other hand, has registered 16 wins with four stoppages, seven defeats and two draws.
Meanwhile, unbeaten Mdantsane-born knockout artist Lonwabo Sizani is going to square up against Aphelele Magobiyane from Gqeberha.
Sizani has stopped all his four opponents and his last victim was Malibongwe Balakisi whom he defeated by a first round knockout at the Guild Theatre in August.
Magobiyane’s last fight was a stoppage win over Njongo Skweyiya in Kariega eight months ago. Magobiyane has won twice with stoppages and lost once. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
