The days of watching other promoters staging tournaments are over for Mbali Zantsi of Showtime Zantsi Productions as she returns with a 10-bout tournament in Gqeberha, on Saturday, 29 November.
Zantsi’s tournament will be headlined by the much-awaited vacant South African junior-welterweight title fight between Aphiwe Boyiya and Sibusiso Zingange.
With the SA title fight that looked more like it was jinxed because of a number of postponements and a late cancellation, Zantsi has taken upon herself to make sure that this bout finally takes place.
Meanwhile, Mthatha-born Sisonke Makeleni will face off against Hlumelo Gingxana from Braelyn, East London, in an Eastern Cape lightweight title defence. This
This fight was due to have taken place earlier this year, but it couldn’t go ahead after Makeleni was reported to have been sick.
And as is always the norm, a Zantsi tournament would be incomplete without a bout featuring female boxers as Cape Town-based Sibulele Soboois faces Sibabaliwe Gwebityala from Kuni village in East London.
The two lasses, who are unbeaten with an identical record of four wins and a single knockout, will clash in an eight rounds vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Africa female junior-flyweight title fight.
