Lwando Mgabi vowed the day he left his South African junior-bantamweight title on the scales that he would work very hard to make sure that he reclaims the crown one day.

And he’s now quite happy that he will get an opportunity to try to reclaim the title when he challenges Moyisi Booi at the Orient Theatre in East London on Friday, 19 December.

“What belongs to me must come back to me and Moyisi knows that that’s my title. He’s now done posing for photos with the belt. It’s now time for the title to return to its rightful owner,” a confident Mgabi remarked.

Mgabi from Duncan Village in East London lost the SA junior-bantamweight crown when he failed to make the required weight before he stopped Sechaba Zuma in the fifth round during their clash at the Estcourt Town Hall, KwaZulu-Natal, early in June.

On the other hand, Mdantsane-born Booi won the national title after he stopped Ntethelelo Magcaba in the eighth round at the Orient Theatre two months ago. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
