Following visa complications which put paid to his fight against Venezuelan boxer Hector Gonzalez, a new opponent has since been secured for Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile.

The former South African featherweight champion is going to come up against Namibian boxer Sem Mateus at the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday, 14 December.

Gonzalez withdrew from the Fuzile fight after his trainers encountered visa problems. The fight was called off after it became very difficult for Gonzalez’s Colombian trainers to secure visas on time.

Meanwhile, the clash against Mateus is the former International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight title contender’s first fight since his loss to Kazakh boxer Sultan Zaurbek in Kazakhstan eight months ago.

The 29-year-old Fuzile from Duncan Village has a professional record of 18 wins with 12 knockouts and three losses. On the other hand, the 31-year-old Mateus’ record stands at eight victories with three stoppages and three draws.
