Just less than a month after he made a successful defence of his title, current South African junior-flyweight champion Siseko ‘King Panda’ Teyisi is looking for a new home as he’s about to turn his back on Xaba Promotions.

Teyisi has stopped seven of his nine victims with Athenkosi Thongwana being his last victim. Mdantsane-born Teyisi stopped Thongwana in the 12th round at the Orient Theatre in East London more than a week ago.

“We have not signed a new contract and we are still planning the way forward. I’m in boxing to help the kids so that they don’t fall in the same trap and become like some former boxers. That’s why we are looking for a move to elsewhere,” Teyisi’s mamager Bongani Bozo told Ink Sport

Bozo added: “I don’t like being bullied. I also don’t like it when someone bullies other people. I cannot sit and fold my arms while my sister’s son needs my help. My sister asked me to look after my nephew and that’s exactly what I’m doing.”

The 21-year-old Teyisi, a southpaw from Mdantsane, is 10th in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight ratings. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
