The Bulls caused an upset when they defeated South Africa ‘A’ 17-14 in an encounter, which was played at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
This was the second match that South Africa ‘A’ played in three days having won 17-13 against the touring British and Irish Lions at the same Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.
Both the Bulls and South Africa ‘A’ scored two tries apiece with Qonce-born Aphelele Fassi and Wandisile Simelane crossing the try line for SA ‘A’ while Keagan Johannes and Johan Grobbelar scored for the Tshwane-based franchise. SA ‘A’ scored four points off two conversions by their captain Elton Jantjies while Johan Goosen converted twice and Chris Smith scored a penalty for the Bulls.
