After 14 tournaments were held in the Eastern Cape last year, the province is going to have furious boxing action as four shows have been confirmed between Saturday, 31 January and Saturday, 7 March.

Action starts at the OR Tambo Hall in Mthatha as Kaya Majeke’s KM Sports and Events stages the vacant Eastern Cape flyweight title contest between Mthatha-born Sinovuyo Mthintelwa and Lutho Gungutho from Nxarhuni.

A week later, action moves to the Chris Hani District with Siyabulela Libazi’s Pepzin Promotions staging an Eastern Cape lightweight title fight between current champion Siseko Makeleni and Hlumelo Gingxana at the Thobi Kula Indoor Sports Centre in Komani.

A fortnight after the Komani show, Last Born Boxing Promotions will host a tournament at the Peddie Town Hall on Sunday, 22 February and LaRena Promotions will take boxing action to the Titi Jonas Hall in Port Alfred on Saturday, 7 March.
