Eastern Cape-based Premiership side Chippa United announced on Thursday morning that they had agreed to release their captain Stanley Nwabali after he requested to leave the club.
Port Harcourt-born Nwabali left the Chilli Boys after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. Nwabali joined the Gqeberha-based side from Katsina United in 2022.
The 29-year-old Nwabali, who is the Nigerian Super Eagles number one goalkeeper, played 76 matches for the Chilli Boys and had 25 clean sheets after conceding 85 goals.
