As part of their preparations for the FIFA FIFA World Cup finals to be played in June and July, Bafana Bafana have lined up two international friendly matches against Panama.
These matches are going to be played in South Africa on Friday, 27 March and four days later. Panama are 33rd in the FIFA rankings while Bafana are 27 places below them.
According to the South African Football Association (SAFA), the friendly matches are going to form part of a critical component of Bafana coach Hugo Broos’ build-up programme ahead of the World Cup finals, which are going to be co-hosted by the United States of America (USA), Canada and Mexico starting from Thursday, 11 June until Sunday, 19 July.
Bafana are going to compete in Group A against Mexico, Korea Republic as well as the winner of UEFA play-off D (Czech Republic, Republic of Ireland, Denmark or North Macedonia).
