Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung Senior has encouraged Happy Mashiane after what happened on Saturday.
Mashiane was red carded towards the end of the first half during Chiefs’ clash against Al Ahly in the final of the CAF Champions League at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco. The red card gave the Red Devils a numerical advantage, which they used to wallop Amakhosi 3-0 to lift their 10th CAF Champions League trophy.
“I want to take this special moment to encourage Happy Mashiane. Happy must take this as a lesson and an experience that will come in handy in his career,” Motaung Senior said.
“This is not his fault and this must serve as a lesson to everyone in the team. We must realise that these things happen in football and life in general. Happy is still young and has a great future ahead of him. He is not alone, we are in this together.”
Meanwhile, Amakhosi have signed Thabani Dube from GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay FC.
The 28-year-old Dube, who signed a three-year contract with Chiefs, was in the Bafana squad, which won the COSAFA Cup in Gqeberha this past weekend.
