Tanzanian-based South African boxer Asemahle ‘The Predator’ Wellem successfully defended his World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa light-heavyweight title at Ubungo, Dar-Es-Salaam, in Tanzania on Friday evening.

Chintsa-born Wellem defended his title following a fourth round technical knockout win over Ghanaian southpaw Prince Oko Nartey. This was Wellem’s first defence of the title he won after he outpointed another Ghanaian southpaw Emmanuel Martey in December last year.

Wellem, a former South African super-middleweight champion, is on a roll, having won his last four fights with three of those victories coming from stoppages.
