The High Court has dismissed with costs Royal AM’s application to hold the National Soccer League (NSL) in contempt of court.
Judge Leonie Windell said that Royal Am’s application to have acting Premier Soccer League (PSL) chief executive officer Mato Madlala jailed for allowing the PSL promotion/relegation play-off to go ahead is without merit.
The verdict said that the relief Royal Am sought ran contrary to the previous findings of the same court and was not supported by fact or law.
It further said that the interdictory relief granted by Nyathi AJ came to an end when Sutherland DJP refused leave to appeal on 18 June 2021.
The NSL, Madlala, Chippa United, Richards Bay FC and Sekhukhune United were respondents in the case.
