With his rematch against South African boxer and two-time world champion, Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga, less than a month away, Regie ‘The Filipino Phenom’ Suganob has roped in unbeaten Nathaniel Dorona as his main sparring partner.

Suganob and Nontshinga meet in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight elimination bout in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines, on Saturday, 12 September.

Dorona is the reigning Philippines Games and Amusements Board youth flyweight champion. And he has won all his nine fights, with five of those wins coming from stoppages.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Nontshinga outpointed Suganob when they fought in an IBF junior-flyweight title contest at the International Convention (ICC), KuGompo City, early in July 2023.

The 28-year-old Suganob has recorded five straight wins since losing to Nontshinga. On the other hand, Nontshinga won twice and lost two times since defeating Suganob.
