A minute and 55 seconds was enough for hugely-talented Zimbabwean boxer, Monica Mkandla, to finish off her fight against Loveness Kokha at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, on Thursday evening.
After she dominated immediately after the gong went off, Mkandla finished off her Malawian opponent with a left hook something which forced fight referee, Namhla Tyuluba, to halt the proceedings.
Following her victory, the 25-year-old Mkandla from Gwanda, Zimbabwe, has stretched her unbeaten record to 11 wins with three knockouts. Mkandla’s win followed just two months after she stopped Cape Town-based firefighter, Simamkele Tutsheni, in the sixth round at the same Kempton venue.
As a result of her loss to Mkandla, Kokha dropped to five wins with one stoppage, 13 losses and a draw.
