One of Hellenic’s most notable players of yesteryear Mark Byrne has passed away.
Hellenic, a club Byrne was reviving as president, announced on Sunday morning that their former defender had gone the way of all flesh.
“It is with heavy hearts that we at Hellenic Football Club announce the passing of club president Mark Byrne. Mark fought a brave fight and we the Byrne family and the club thank everyone for their progress and messages,” a statement from Hellenic said.
Mark played for Hellenic alongside his brother David and were coached by their late father Budgie Byrne.
