Bloemfontein Celtic coach John Maduka wishes to bag a third win for Phunya Sele Sele as they face AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership match at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung on Sunday afternoon (15h30).
The two sides go into this match having had contrasting fortunes in their last matches in January and December. Celtic lost 2-1 away to Maritzburg United while Usuthu beat Chippa United 3-1 at home.
‘‘We have been working very hard, especially after our loss to Maritzburg United. We had to try and rectify the mistakes we made in that game,’’ said Maduka.
‘‘We expect a very tough game. We know AmaZulu are one of the good teams. They have been playing well. They have a good coach and good players.’’
The former Phunya Sele Sele and Bush Bucks midfielder is hoping that home ground advantage is going to work in their favour during the match.
‘‘We strongly believe that it’s not going to be an easy game, however, playing at home gives us an advantage. We will make sure that we get the points that we need. Whenever you are playing at home you have to make sure you get maximum points,’’ said Maduka.
Phunya Sele Sele are going to face AmaZulu without injured Sifiso Ngobeni and Menzi Masuku.
‘‘Apart from Ngobeni and Masuku everybody is available for selection.
We hope everything will go according to our plan and win the game,’’ said Maduka.
Celtic are 11th on the Premiership table after collecting eight points from nine matches having won two games, lost two and drawn four while AmaZulu are two places above them with nine points from two wins, three draws against three losses.
