A win continues to elude Swallows FC as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Maritzburg United in a DStv Premiership match at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
The Dube Birds came from behind to snatch a draw after Bongokuhle Hlongwane had given the Team of Choice the lead on the stroke half-time. Hlongwane headed in from Rowan Human’s corner kick.
Swallows defender Wandisile Letlabika equalised for the Birds two minutes from time. This is definitely not the start that new Swallows coach Dylan Kerr was looking for after joining the Dube Birds earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Lamontville Golden Arrows beat Chippa United 2-1 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.
Michael Gumede and Pule Mmodi scored for Abafana Bes’thende while Eva Nga Bienvenu netted for the Chilli Boys.
