No changes are expected when the Proteas come up against England in the third and final Twenty20 international at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town on Tuesday evening (starting at 18h00).

This clash is a dead rubber as England have already won the three-match series having beaten the Proteas by five wickets in the first match at Newlands last Friday and four wickets at Boland Park in Paarl on Sunday.

‘‘Obviously, I’m disappointed to lose the match (on Sunday). I don’t think we are gonna change much on Tuesday. We are gonna play our best team and try to win. We need to win for our own sake,’’ Proteas captain Quinton de Kock, who scored 30 off 18 deliveries in the second T20, said.

Meanwhile, De Kock has admitted that they didn’t have the options they wanted to have when it came to team selection.

He was referring to David Miller and Andile Phehlukwayo, who have missed the three-match series.

‘‘Unfortunately, they are not up to scratch yet, but they will be ready for ODIs. That’s unfortunately what we have to deal with it. I just think it would be nice to have a little extra batsman as an allrounder.  We are trying to do our best up there,’’ he said.

The Proteas and England will meet in three one day internationals (ODIs) after Tuesday’s encounter. Two of the three ODIs are going to be played at Newlands and with the other one scheduled for Boland Park between Friday and Wednesday, 9 December.
