Any coach would dream of having the current crop of AmaZulu players in his squad.
This is what Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy said after his team beat Baroka FC 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.
Bonginkosi Ntuli and Siphelele Magubane scored the goals, which gave Usuthu the victory.
“Well deserved three points. I was a bit concerned after playing a hard and difficult match against SuperSport. The bus trip and the heat. These players are a bunch of winners,” McCarthy said.
“It’s really difficult for a coach not to succeed when you have players like these. They are willing to work hard, willing to succeed.”
The former Cape Town City coach is quite happy that Usuthu didn’t lose on the road after drawing with SuperSport United and beating Bakgaga.
“We have been playing fantastic football. Baroka came back and made it difficult for us. As usual, they played long balls. The most important thing is that we got two goals and the points. A week away from home we got four points,” McCarthy said.
