Ayanda Mtshali smiled from ear to ear in Thohoyandou on Saturday afternoon and it was easy to figure out why he was smiling.
Mtshali’s team Chippa United had beaten Black Leopards 3-0 thus he was smiling like he was auditioning for a toothpaste advert.
The Chilli Boys goalkeeper had another reason to smile because he had kept his second clean sheet in three matches. Mtshali was in goals when the Chilli Boys beat TS Galaxy 1-0 in Nelspruit last weekend. And he kept another clean in the match against Leopards.
“I’m very happy for the three points. The clean sheet I kept during the match is going to boost us going to the Bloemfontein Celtic match. It’s not easy to come to Thohoyandou and keep a clean sheet against Leopards,” Mtshali said.
Mtshali has been keeping goals since former Chilli Boys captain Veli Mothwa was sold to AmaZulu.
And it has not been easy for Mtshali as he was fetching the ball from the back of the net in almost every game.
Mtshali is now looking forward to Wednesday’s match against Celtic at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung.
“It’s not gonna be easy because Celtic have been doing well. We are going there as a team and we will fight for the three points,” Mtshali said.
